Welcome to February! Here in China, February means Chinese New Year, a huge event in China where most people have several days to up to a month off work. This year is the Year of the Dog. Most businesses will close for several days, and young people living in the cities will head home to visit their parents in more rural locations. Other traditions include hanging red and gold decorations (particularly red Chinese lanterns), and exchanging hong bao, red envelopes stuffed with crisp money.
